The Lord's House was built in 1905 in French colonial style. It was the residence of Katathon Chhum Aphaiwong, the last Siamese governor of Battambang. In 1907, Battambang was returned to Cambodia under French colonial administration. The house was then used as the Provincial Hall and became a symbol of administrative power. Today, it has been transformed into the Battambang History Museum, displaying important artifacts and documents. Visitors from both Cambodia and abroad never miss the chance to see this historic house. |
To preserve the photographs in their original condition and protect them from external damage, earlier images have been carefully arranged inside display cabinets. Each photograph reflects Cambodia's development and the living context of its people. Some of these images are ones that today's younger generation has never seen before. That makes them true historical artifacts, existing for many decades and carrying priceless value. They are being diligently maintained so they can last far into the future.
